Does the Weather Hate Us?

Infinife Pulse Posted by Infinife Pulse at 03:24 PM on April 26, 2009 Comments comments (1)

So about 30 mins before our next meeting, and it's snowing. Our first OUTDOORS meeting, and it's freaking snowing!

You ever get the feeling that some outside forces are trying to keep you from reaching the goals you make for yourself?

That the whole world seems to be closing in on you alone, making it impossible to even take one step forward?

I'm looking outside right now, and I know it's gonna be cold and probably unpleasant the moment I take a step out that door. But you know what? It's just snow. In the end, the forces of nature that I'm dreading is simply frozen water from the sky.

I'm not sure how many others share this realization, but I'm going to head out in a few minutes. I'm going to walk out to our next meeting, and going to see just how many of us are going to let a little bad weather slow us down.

The world isn't ending just yet. I can still see the ground. And I can still see the sky. The world is still here, and so are we.

An Honest Spontaneous Shoutout

Hey there,

You know, finding the right words to start out the email takes awhile, until you just give up and tell it like it is, a rant from me to you. Enjoy!

I want to answer two questions on everybody's minds.

Q:Whats worth being part of iPulse?
A: Simply, we're worth it because of our mission in empowering young adults and passionately making a difference in Edmonton.
However, thats not my answer.

This is:
We are moving forward with our Mural project . We have established connections with Edmonton Youth Council and Boyle Street Ministries, made fundraising techniques, have a supplier (to build painting panels) and we are acting out the project in the next two weeks. We have also made efforts to give food and clothing to the homeless through drive-by-handouts and hope to fundraise more funds in order to do more for the homeless in our city.

Amazingly, we have connection with breakdancing crews and body-percussion experts, building up to the potential workshop to learn how to make transit pulse possible.

And we have the ability to do more- cultural events, worthwhile projects, fundraisers, presentations, workshops, video creations... All we need is people.

Q.How can I be a part of iPulse?
A.Frankly, we need a Finance Vice-President (VP), an Event Management VP (and team), Group Representatives, Researching "Idea-Lifters", Tech Geeks, Art Nerds, culturally passionate performers of all kinds and people willing to serve to make a difference. We need you.

Honestly, you won't be just a "part", but will be able to start a pulse. Ideas come from everybody, and none shall be turned down if its in our ability and mission purpose to make those ideas possible. We can become an infinite pulse in our city.

Make a Wish

Infinife Pulse Posted by Infinife Pulse at 02:51 AM on November 23, 2008 Comments comments (1)

I saw my first shooting star tonight.

At first I just stared at the sky where it had appeared, until I realized my stupidity a few moments later and started to make a wish.

We make a lot of wishes in our life-time don't we? It doesn't have to be in front of something like a wishbone or a shooting star either.

Eventually, most of these wishes will eventally be either forgotten or abandoned as hopeless dreams. It's a sad truth isn't it?

BUT what if we started remembering these dreams? What if we took those dreams we made, and put them to heart?

If a wish is important to you, you won't abandon it. So why not make every wish like that? Make important that one wish to deliver a pizza to a friend; to make a card for someone's birthday; or even just to ask how someone's day is.

These wishes may seem small or trivial for the present, but in the end they'll end up with some happy faces, and a sense of accomplishment! Excuse for fun times no?

And how about those big wishes? See the world; become a doctor; staying forever with friends? Why settle for something like cashier or street-side hobo? Make that wish come true! Sure it may take some effort...maybe a lot of effort, but if your wish is really important to you, then it is definitely worth breaking the barriers in your way!

Make a wish, and while you're at it, why not make someone else's wish come true?
